There are no constraints left to halt America's slide into a totalitarian capitalism. Electoral politics are a sham. The media have been debased and defanged by corporate owners. The working class has been impoverished and is now being plunged into profound despair. The legal system has been corrupted to serve corporate interests. Popular institutions, from labor unions to political parties, have been destroyed or emasculated by corporate power. And any form of protest, no matter how tepid, is blocked by an internal security apparatus that is starting to rival that of the East German secret police. The mounting anger and hatred, coursing through the bloodstream of the body politic, make violence and counter-violence inevitable. Brace yourself. The American empire is over. And the descent is going to be horrifying.

In her 2002 book titled, "Water Wars," noted author, social activist, and ecologist Vandana Shiva called privatizing water:

Why is this fear so universal, so compelling? Is it because we really believe our toaster and our notebook will end up as our mechanical overlords? Of course not. This is not a future that we fear but a past that we are already living.

If Obama has his way, military intelligence will soon be running the Transportation Security Administration.

“President Barack Obama plans to appoint a former senior Army official with a career in intelligence to lead the Transportation Security Administration,” reports the Associated Press. “The president is expected to announce his choice, retired Gen. Robert Harding, on Monday, according to an administration official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement is not yet public.”

The legitimacy of Barack Obama's presidency is being questioned by a group of American activists. They claim he shouldn't be in the seat of power - alleging he wasn't born in the US Later we hear from one of the leaders of the so-called "birther movement", who believes Obama's birth certificate was forged.

In the days of the old Pravda, one could determine who was winning secret Politburo power struggles by just looking at the official Soviet newspaper. Those winning simply got better press.

Perhaps it may be no different here in the United States.

The Obama Administration has heightened tensions with China through a series of measures which can only be characterized as major provocations designed to undermine relations between the two countries.  These provocations include political support for separatist movements, such as the US-funded theocratic-monk led Tibetan secessionists and the Washington-based Uyghur secessionists, as well as through the $6.4 billion-dollar advanced arms sales to Taiwan, a virtual protectorate of the US Navy.  President Obama has publicly met with and openly backed these separatist and secessionists groups, flaunting Washington's refusal to recognize China's existing borders.  This is part of the US strategy of encouraging the physical break-up of independent nations, which are viewed as 'obstacles' to its program of global military empire building.

At 308 million people, the U.S. is currently the third most populous nation on Earth, behind only China (1.3 billion) and India (1.2 billion). By 2050, India will rise to #1, with 1.6 billion—a 37% increase. China’s ‘one-child’ policy will limit its increase to about 8% (1.4 billion). The growth rate in the U.S., though, tops them both: We are projected to hit 440 million, or an astonishing 43% increase. This is, by far, the highest growth rate of any western industrialized nation.

The SPLC is an outfit specifically created to peddle fear and paranoia of any organization that may oppose large government and the diminishment of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. It specializes in conflating marginalized (and often government created) white supremacist groups (and individuals such as the FBI operative Hal Turner) with Libertarians and Constitutionalists. Both the MIAC and DHS reports depend on wildly speculative information provided by the SPLC and the ADL. The corporate media also relies heavily on the SPLC to propagate distortions and exaggerations about the patriot movement.
