For the past few weeks the Internet has been swamped with articles and comments on the topic of torture. What nobody seems to notice is that the last round of excitement got started conveniently by the Obama administration, just at a time when it was receiving a lot of flak for its handling of the financial crisis. It would be extremely naïve to believe that bankster puppet Obama was serious about getting his predecessor into trouble by releasing incriminating photos. For starters such photos probably don’t exist. Even if they did, they would be staged – just like the infamous Abu Ghraib pictures – in what was one of the most successful psy ops of the Bush administration.

Let's get the facts straight on U.S. torture. The world champions in hypocrisy, the United States of America, have always tortured.^[1] There is plenty of documented evidence for U.S. involvement in systematic torture during the wars in Korea, Vietnam and elsewhere.^[2] If U.S. officials didn’t want to get their hands dirty themselves, for whatever reason, they just got someone else to do it for them. It's always the same. If the prisoner won't cooperate with the 'good cop' Western interrogator, he just leaves the room for half an hour, while the 'bad cop' local colleague does what he's trained to do: kick in or electrocute genitals, rip out finger nails, burn skin with cigarettes and electric irons, or – a long time Israeli favourite, because it leaves no marks - pour ice water over the naked prisoner and expose him to freezing temperatures.

On other occasions, the U.S. officials wouldn't share the joy. A classic example are the Nuremberg war crime tribunals, hailed by many as a victory of human rights, where the German defendants were routinely tortured. The (US) Simpson Inquiry Commission reported among other things that of the 139 (German) cases they had investigated, 137 had had their testicles permanently destroyed by kicks received from the American War Crimes Investigating Team."^[3]. The confessions produced in those interrogations were the basis for the historic convictions in the Nuremberg tribunals, together with witness statements that were so flawd that the 'impartial' judges had to disallow cross examinations to prevent them from being ripped apart.

But let's not get side-tracked by religious matters. The point I'm trying to make is that anyone who believes that torture is something Un-American that was added by the Bush/Cheney administration is seriously delusional.

Another point that nobody seems to notice is what kind of people are fueling the current debate surrounding the stalled release of torture pictures and Dick Cheney's recalcitrant claims that he's saved American citizens by 'harshly interrogating' some of the 'worst cases'. So nice of Cheney to help out the new President by distracting public attention from the biggest robbery in human history that is the U.S. tax payer funded bailout. Why can't my fellow dissidents see that there is no point torturing any of the alleged terrorists, because there is no significant terrorism that is not paid for and controlled by Western governments?! Torturing the alleged terrorists couldn't possibly produce any information that Western government agencies don't already know.

And then there are all those 'conscientious' people who contradict Cheney, saying that torture didn't save American lifes and only motivated new generations of terrorists. How gullible dissidents are when they are praising these kind of statements. They completely ignore the fact that the very people who are contradicting Cheney on that matter themselves are deeply involved in the war of terror. Adding to the suspicion is the fact that they all claim that no more than hundreds or thousands of U.S. soldiers were killed as a result of U.S. torture, by motivating the insurgents, when the real number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq is well above 70,000.^[4] If they were genuinely concerned about the death of U.S. soldiers, they wouldn't parrot the official fake numbers. They know better.

I am unconvinced that in the context of the war of terror that anyone got tortured by U.S. officials, just like I have my doubts that the zoo style prison on Guantanamo is for real. The purpose of both is to distract the public from the real crime that is the ongoing plunder of Iraqi oil and U.S. tax payers.
