HOUSTON, Nov. 24 (Agencies) – Astronauts aboard the space shuttle Endeavour have ended their seven-hour spacewalking mission after they had to share their tools.
A spacewalking astronaut, Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper, accidentally let go of her tool bag after a grease gun inside it exploded. She helplessly was watching the tool bag as the tote and everything inside it floated away.
It was one of the largest items ever to be lost by a spacewalker, and occurred during an unprecedented attempt to clean and lube a gummed-up joint at the international space station.
